10th November 2011.. Sad News

It is with great regret and much sadness that Dunston UTS FC have to announce the death of our Vice President Mr Terry Wood.

Terry died peacefully at home on 8th November after a long illness. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this sad time.

Terry was a stalwart at the club, in it's many guises, for more than 20 years after being talked into coming to the club from Whickham FC where he

had done so much as well. A wonderful man who loved his football from his playing days through to his many roles at both clubs.

RIP Terry

31st October 2011.. Dunston UTS FC & Red House Farm F.C

Dunston UTS F.C. are pleased to announce their link up with Red House Farm Football Club.  Red House Farm is based on Broadway

West in Gosforth and can boast no fewer than twenty seven junior teams. They have one senior team that operates in the Northern

Alliance League.

The link will see both clubs developing a relationship whereby young up and coming players will be given the opportunity to progress into the Northern League with Dunston UTS, with UTS players then going in the opposite direction who may be looking for match fitness and game time playing in the Northern Alliance for Red House Farm.

The opportunity to progress from Junior Football into the Northern Alliance with Red House Farm, and then on to the Northern League with Dunston UTS, sets out a solid foundation in the development of players making the transition from Junior football into the Senior game.

The link will also see Red House Farm players at Under 18 level being given the opportunity to play in the FA Youth Cup in future tournaments under the banner of Dunston UTS FC.

Both Dunston UTS and Red House Farm are very excited with regard to forging this collaboration, and are looking forward to a successful working relationship for many years to come.

Further details regarding Red House Farm F.C. can be found via their website www.redhousefarmjfc.com

14th June 2011, New Signings..

1. Chris Swailes - Centre Half - player of the season at Blyth Spartans last season where he played 48 out of 50 games. Previously played in the Gateshead side that was promoted to the Conference.
2. Stephen Shaw - Midfield - played at Ashington last season where he skippered the side.
3. Anthony Hume - Forward - Played for Stokesley last season.

Manager Billy Irwin is delighted to have strengthened his squad for the forthcoming season with at least one other new face to come into his plans. Billy said the signing of Chris Swailes is a massive signing for the club. He is a vastly experienced ex pro who played 48 out of 50 games in the Conference North for Blyth Spartans last season winning the Drager Player of the Season award. He will have a great presence within the club with his leadership and enthusiasm for the game. Billy said I have tracked Stephen Shaw for two seasons and he is the type of player who will fit in well at Dunston.

Anthony Hume done well against us for Stokesley and with the type of player he will have around him i am sure he will do well.

Most of all they were players who wanted to come and play for Dunston and we look forward to the coming season. My next signing may be my last this pre season but if the right person becomes available who will strengthen our squad then we will certainly consider the option.
